Ashley and Evan's House of Blues NOLA Wedding
My favorite thing about photographing weddings is seeing the different ways couples approach their days. Some couples tend to sway more traditional and some couples go completely original. Ashley and Evan made their day express who they are as a couple. It was great to spend two days straight with them, from photographing their welcome party at the historic Antoine’s Restaurant in the French Quarter to shooting their wedding the following day the the House Of Blues NOLA.
Being that Antoine’s is the oldest restaurant in New Orleans it was a pleasure to shoot in some of their iconic rooms. There’s a lot of history in that place and the green room there was a living museum. The walls were adorned with past and current members and was quite ornate. It provided the perfect backdrop for their welcome party.
At the end of their party we did a short second line through the restaurant out onto the street!
The next day was their wedding at the House of Blues NOLA! This was one of my favorite wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure to photograph within. The building had tons of character and there were many rooms with completely different vibes. Their venue was perfect and represented them as a couple perfectly!
Every couple puts a lot of time and effort and picking out the perfect things for their weddings from how they dress to how all the details are all set up and laid out for everyone to experience. I think it’s important to showcase all of those details to tell the story of the day!
As many summer days here in New Orleans, the day was filled with rain. Which made their outdoor ceremony a little more challenging but still very manageable. They were married in the beautiful back garden of the House of Blues under a tent to keep all the guests dry. Who knew there was a back garden?!
After Ashley and Evan tied the knot it was time to get to the reception inside!
And just a few more just for good measure.
